Role Description The Production & Testing Engineer — Distribution Transformers will oversee day-to-day production and testing activities for oil-cooled and dry-type transformers up to 2.5 MVA. Responsibilities include planning and monitoring production processes, coordinating with the shop floor team, and ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety norms, and quality standards. The role involves preparing and executing test plans, conducting routine and type tests, analyzing test results, and documenting findings in line with industry regulations and customer requirements. The engineer will collaborate with design and quality teams to resolve non-conformities, support root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, requiring regular presence on the production floor and testing area.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Test Engineering and Testing, with the ability to work on power distribution transformers and related equipment.
Candidates should possess skills in Test Execution and Test Cases, including planning, setting up, and documenting structured test procedures.
Candidates should possess skills in Functional Testing, ensuring transformers meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, transformer manufacturing processes, and relevant standards (such as IS/IEC) is beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
Experience in a transformer manufacturing or heavy electrical equipment environment, including work on test bays and production lines, is an advantage.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, test reports, and customer specifications, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work safely and responsibly in an on-site industrial setting.
