About This Role
This is an opportunity to build expertise in one of the most dynamic and strategically important areas of global trade. As an Export Controls Advisor supporting U.S. Operations, you will work at the intersection of regulatory compliance, supply chain continuity, and international business enablement. You do not need a background in export controls to be considered, but what matters is that you bring strong analytical instincts, a comfort with regulatory research, and a drive to solve complex problems that have real business impact.
You will support the day-to-day execution of Dell's U.S. export compliance program, with a focus on export documentation, Electronic Export Information (EEI) filings, licensing support, and Global Trade Management (GTM) system resolutions that keep product moving through the supply chain. You will work closely with Trade Compliance colleagues, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Legal to ensure compliant and uninterrupted export operations.
What You Will Do
Manage export compliance operations, including export documentation, EEI filing audits, shipping records, and audit-ready compliance files.
Research and interpret U.S. export regulations (including EAR) and provide clear guidance to internal stakeholders.
Support export licensing activities through record maintenance, license tracking, and application preparation.
Resolve GTM system holds and compliance issues in partnership with Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure uninterrupted shipment flow.
Drive process improvements and scalable compliance workflows while maintaining accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

We are not screening for export controls experience. We are looking for someone who thinks critically, research thoroughly, and can connect regulatory requirements to real operational decisions. The following backgrounds translate well into this role:
Compliance, audit, risk, or legal operations, which includes any function where you have interpreted policy, identified gaps, or ensured adherence to rules
Supply chain, logistics, or operations, i.e., particularly if you have worked with documentation, system holds, or cross-functional problem resolution
Finance, procurement, or contracts, where roles that require precision, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities
Any role where you have conducted regulatory or policy research and communicated findings to a non-technical audience
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any field
Minimum 2 years of experience in a compliance, operations, supply chain, legal, finance, or related function
Demonstrated ability to conduct research and apply findings to practical business problems
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with trade, customs, or regulatory compliance concepts
Experience with ERP or trade management systems
Prior exposure to export documentation or international shipping processes
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $81,600 - $122,000.
