Skills and Competencies
6+ years of experience producing research on market dynamics, credit performance, defaults, and recoveries
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong understanding of corporate finance and credit analysis
Experience analyzing individual issuer performance and broader credit trends
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality work product with limited supervision
Demonstrated diligence, ownership, and ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outcomes
Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
Responsibilities
Leveraged Finance VP, Senior Research Analyst specializing in the analysis of speculative-grade issuers, with responsibility for developing and publishing research, representing Moody's at industry events and conferences, and supporting the advancement of Moody's AI and data initiatives.
Lead the publication of timely, relevant, and insightful leveraged finance research that strengthens Moody's thought leadership and market relevance
Represent Moody's views at industry events, conferences, and investor roundtables, articulating clear perspectives on leveraged finance trends and credit risk
Build effective relationships internally and with issuers, sponsors, lenders, investors, and other market participants to enhance Moody's Ratings' relevance and reputation as a trusted source of credit insight
Publish research on defaults and recoveries grounded in a strong understanding of corporate finance, credit analysis, and market dynamics
Contribute to leveraged finance data and research initiatives, including the integration of AI and analytical tools into data analysis, content generation, and quality control
Develop research on the credit performance of speculative-grade issuers, including downgrade, default, and recovery trends
Comment on leveraged finance market dynamics using issuer-level analysis and broader market insights
About the Team
Our Credit Strategy & Research team is responsible for delivering timely, high-quality leveraged finance research that drives Moody's thought leadership and market influence. The team focuses on speculative-grade credit performance, default and recovery analysis, and broader market dynamics, contributing directly to Moody's reputation as a trusted source of credit insight. By joining our team, you will be part of innovative work at the intersection of credit research and emerging technology, including the adoption of AI-powered tools that enhance analytical processes, improve data quality, and support content generation across the leveraged finance space.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[salaryMin]] - [[cust_Range75]], depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
