Location: Remote. Candidates must be based in Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones.

Salary: $110k to $130k annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

The Opportunity
Lotus United is seeking an experienced 3D Designer to create innovative retail stores, fixtures, displays, and branded environments for our world-class clients. Our projects range from point-of-purchase displays and fixture systems to complete retail store environments for leading consumer brands.
Our goal is simple: deliver best-in-class retail design that elevates our clients' brands while meeting manufacturing, budget, schedule, and operational requirements. This is a highly visual, 3D design position. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to create compelling 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials. If your portfolio does not showcase strong 3D visualization skills, this position is not the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
Design Support & Visualization
Design and develop innovative 3D solutions for retail displays, exhibits, and full-store environments that reflect each client's brand strategy while enhancing the customer experience and driving product sales.
Produce high-quality SketchUp models and presentation-ready renderings, and use LayOut to clearly communicate design intent and showcase products at a best-in-class level.
Execute design revisions and refinements based on internal reviews and client feedback.
Documentation & Production
Translate design concepts into technical documentation using SketchUp and LayOut to create client-facing presentations, while collaborating closely with our engineering team to communicate design intent and contribute to decisions involving materials, modularity, manufacturing efficiencies, and overall project aesthetics.
Support drawing updates, redlines, and coordination throughout all project phases.
Prepare production-ready files that clearly communicate design intent to internal teams and external partners.
Maintain organized project files, assets, and version control across active projects in a fast-paced workflow.
Collaboration
Work closely with senior designers, account team members, and production partners.
Support coordination with external vendors and fabrication partners as needed.
Contribute to internal design discussions and creative problem solving.
Remote Work
This is a remote position. Candidates must reside within the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones and be available during core business hours. Occasional travel for client meetings or team gatherings may be required.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
7+ years of relevant experience in retail, interior, environmental, or experiential design.
Proficiency in SketchUp and LayOut is absolutely required.
Experience with rendering software such as Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or Twinmotion is required.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Strong understanding of architectural drawings, spatial design principles, and the relationship between design and constructability.
Ability to read, interpret, and clearly communicate design intent through plans, elevations, and detail drawings.
Understanding of merchandising principles within retail environments.
Strong visual communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and organization.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with retail environments, materials, and fabrication methods is essential.
Experience participating in projects from concept through production.
Proficiency applying AI-supported tools and emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency, rapidly explore design concepts, and communicate ideas more effectively.
Portfolio Requirement
A portfolio is required and must demonstrate outstanding 3D modeling, rendering, and design-thinking abilities. Process work that illustrates how ideas evolve from concept to execution is strongly encouraged.
Portfolio examples must demonstrate proficiency in SketchUp and LayOut to align with our current design workflow and engineering process to be considered for this position.
