Role Description The API Engineer will design, develop, and maintain APIs that support MG Consulting-Formation’s digital platforms and services in a part-time remote role. Responsibilities include implementing secure and scalable API endpoints, integrating third-party services, and ensuring reliable data exchange between internal systems. The API Engineer will debug and optimize existing code, write technical documentation, and collaborate with trainers, consultants, and other technical team members to align API features with business and educational needs. The role also involves monitoring performance, improving system reliability, and contributing to best practices in software architecture and quality assurance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and general Programming for building and maintaining APIs.
Candidates should possess experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for designing modular and reusable API components.
Candidates should possess solid Debugging skills for identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues in API code and integrations.
Candidates should possess knowledge of Embedded Systems when APIs interface with hardware or connected devices.
Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL API design, HTTP protocols, and JSON/XML data formats.
Familiarity with common backend frameworks (such as Node.js, .NET, Java, or Python frameworks) and version control tools (e.g., Git).
Understanding of security best practices, authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth2, JWT), and performance optimization.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and manage part-time schedules effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
