About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
About - Boring Copy Company is a culture-first creative agency building ideas that brands put out and the internet picks up.
From Netflix & ChatGPT to Swiggy, OFF/BEAT, Kingfisher, Wispr Flow, Britannia, Amazon miniTV, CoinSwitch, Lemonn, MARS Cosmetics, AURM, Revlon, CRED, GoKwik, Moneyview, Chemist at Play, Sleepyhead, ZEISS, and more, we’ve worked with brands across categories to create campaigns, ad films, cultural moments, IPs, social media, and internet-first activations.
Our work can be deeply human, deeply internet, or occasionally a little unhinged — as long as it gets people talking.
Role Description
We’re looking for a Business Development Intern (Full-time) to work directly with the founder.
This is primarily a client scouting and new business role. You’ll spend your time figuring out which brands Boring Copy Company should be working with, finding the right people at those brands, reaching out to them, and helping us get into the room.
You’ll work on:
Identifying brands and categories we should be pitching to
Finding the right decision-makers across marketing and brand teams
Reaching out to prospective clients through LinkedIn, email, and other channels
Scheduling and coordinating first meetings
Keeping track of leads, conversations, and follow-ups
Researching brands before meetings and identifying potential opportunities
Helping with pitches, credentials, case studies, and proposals when required
Working directly with the founder on growing Boring Copy Company’s client roster
This is not a cold-calling-heavy sales role. We’re looking for someone who understands brands, is curious about advertising and internet culture, and can figure out who we should be talking to and how to get a conversation started.
Who We’re Looking For
Someone genuinely interested in brands, advertising, marketing, and internet culture
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable reaching out to people and starting conversations
Good at research and figuring things out independently
Organised enough to manage multiple leads and follow-ups without things falling through the cracks
Familiarity with LinkedIn, Google Sheets, CRM/sales tools, or prospecting tools is a plus
Previous experience in business development, sales, marketing, or an agency is a plus, but not mandatory
You don’t need an MBA or a specific degree. We care more about whether you’re sharp, curious, proactive, and genuinely excited about building something.
Location
Bengaluru preferred, since you’ll get to work closely with the team and founder in person.
That said, we’re open to candidates from other locations if you’re a particularly strong fit.
Type: Full-time internship
