YouTube Script Writer

We’re Hiring: YouTube Script Writer - Business, Finance & Tech
Knowabit is a documentary-style YouTube channel covering business, finance, technology, companies, markets, and the people behind them.
We’re looking for a script writer who can turn deep research into clear, engaging long-form stories for an American audience.
Our videos are typically 20–40 minutes long and take inspiration from channels like ColdFusion, Modern MBA, Fern, Neo, and similar documentary-style creators.
What we’re looking for:
• Strong research and fact-checking skills
• Experience writing long-form YouTube scripts
• Strong understanding of business, finance, and technology
• Ability to explain complex topics in simple, natural American English
• Good storytelling, pacing, hooks, and narrative structure
• Comfortable working with data, reports, earnings calls, articles, studies, and primary sources
• Understanding of what keeps viewers watching a 20–40 minute video
• Ability to write for a primarily U.S. audience
We care a lot about writing that sounds natural. We don’t want generic AI-style scripts, unnecessary hype, filler, repetitive phrasing, or overly dramatic narration.
You should be able to take a topic such as Costco, Starbucks, U.S. national debt, antitrust cases, major companies, or financial events and build a well-researched story around it.
As part of the selection process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short writing sample.
We’ll provide the research and source material, and you’ll be expected to turn it into a short YouTube script. This helps us evaluate your storytelling, structure, clarity, and ability to work from detailed research.
This will initially be a paid, per-script role, with the possibility of becoming a long-term position as the channel grows.
