Role Description The Freight Broker role is an on-site position based in Chandigarh. The Freight Broker will be responsible for matching shippers with suitable carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring that loads are scheduled and dispatched efficiently. Daily tasks include building and maintaining relationships with clients and carriers, tracking shipments, resolving service issues, and updating records in internal systems. The role also involves monitoring market trends, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with operations and finance teams to support accurate billing and documentation.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage to negotiate rates, secure capacity, and manage load arrangements.
Proficiency in Customer Service to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships with shippers and carriers.
Experience in Dispatching to coordinate loads, manage schedules, and ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Account Management capabilities to grow existing accounts, manage contracts, and track performance metrics.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Comfort with using transportation management systems (TMS), spreadsheets, and other digital tools.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain is preferred; relevant diploma or degree is an advantage.
