Business Architect (15–20 Years) – IAN Client Implementation
Role Purpose
The Business Architect is responsible for aligning IAN implementations with the client’s business strategy, operating model, insurance processes, and transformation objectives.
The role translates business needs into target business processes, capability models, operating models, and implementation requirements, working closely with client business leaders, Business Analysts, Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Product, and implementation teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead business discovery workshops to understand current processes, pain points, operating models, and transformation objectives.
Define target-state business processes and operating models for IAN-enabled workflows across underwriting, policy, claims, servicing, and related functions.
Translate business objectives into capabilities, process requirements, business rules, user journeys, and measurable outcomes.
Identify process simplification, automation, standardization, and AI-enabled transformation opportunities.
Align business requirements with IAN platform capabilities and help determine configure vs process change vs product enhancement.
Work with Enterprise and Solution Architects to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in solution architecture and implementation design.
Define business process dependencies, roles, controls, exception handling, and human-in-the-loop requirements.
Support business readiness, adoption, UAT, operating model transition, and change-impact discussions.
Engage with senior client stakeholders to validate business design decisions, resolve gaps, and maintain alignment across workstreams.
Required Skills & Experience
15–18 years of experience in Business Architecture, Business Transformation, Insurance Consulting, Product Implementation, or Business Analysis leadership.
Strong Property & Casualty Insurance domain knowledge, with experience across underwriting, policy administration, claims, servicing, and distribution.
Strong understanding of Commercial Lines and/or Specialty Insurance is preferred.
Proven experience in business process redesign, capability mapping, operating model design, and transformation programs.
Ability to translate business requirements into structured processes, workflows, decision rules, and implementation requirements.
Experience working with enterprise software platforms, workflow automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
Strong stakeholder management and experience working with business and technology leaders across North America and/or Europe.
Excellent facilitation, consulting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills
Experience with BPMN, process modeling, workflow automation, and decision modeling.
Exposure to intelligent document processing, AI-enabled workflows, GenAI, and automation.
Experience with configurable insurance platforms or SaaS products.
Familiarity with capability maps, value streams, customer journeys, and business architecture frameworks.
