Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization and setting the technical direction for the company. This role oversees multiple engineering teams, ensuring high-quality software delivery, robust architecture, and effective collaboration with product and business partners. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining engineering goals and roadmaps, mentoring engineering leaders, establishing best practices, and improving processes for planning, development, testing, and deployment. The Vice President of Engineering will manage resource allocation, support hiring and performance management, and foster a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous learning. The role also involves monitoring key engineering metrics, overseeing major projects and product initiatives, and representing engineering in executive-level discussions and strategic planning.
Qualifications
Demonstrated strength in Engineering Management and Team Leadership, with experience guiding distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.
Deep expertise in Software Development and Product Development, including modern architectures, development lifecycles, and scalable systems.
Proficiency in Project Management, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage dependencies, and deliver complex projects on time.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with product, design, operations, and executive leadership.
Proven track record of building and mentoring engineering leaders, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, and driving organizational change.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, security, and reliability in production environments is highly beneficial.
Background in setting technical strategy, defining engineering metrics, and aligning teams to business goals.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience in senior engineering leadership is a plus.
