Project Manager, Transportation

Chandos is seeking a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex transportation infrastructure projects throughout Western Canada.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying close to the work and collaborating with field operations, clients, consultants, and preconstruction teams to drive project success from start to finish. While based in Calgary, project-related travel will be required.
This is not a purely office-based role. We are looking for a builder who understands project execution, can anticipate and manage risk, and is comfortable spending time in the field supporting construction teams.
Lead the planning and execution of transportation infrastructure projects from mobilization through closeout
Partner closely with field leadership, preconstruction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients
Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, procurement, and contract administration
Develop and maintain accurate cost reports, cash flow projections, and project forecasts
Monitor project performance and proactively identify cost, schedule, and execution risks
Support change management, claims, and client communications
Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in accordance with Chandos quality standards
Collaborate with superintendents and project teams to optimize construction sequencing and project execution
4+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor not self-development
Experience delivering bridges, LRT infrastructure, transit stations/hubs, or other complex transportation structures
Proven experience managing project forecasts, budgets, cost control, schedules, risk, and change management
Strong understanding of how construction sequencing impacts project cost, productivity, and risk
Experience working directly with clients, consultants, field operations, and subcontractors
Experience with self-perform crews, structural concrete, structural steel, or complex staged construction is an asset
Willing and able to travel up to 40-50% as required

This is likely not a fit if your experience is primarily in:
Highway paving
Asphalt production and placement
Road resurfacing or road widening
Underground municipal servicing
Linear road construction with limited structural scope
We're specifically seeking project managers who have successfully managed the financial and operational delivery of bridge, transit, and major transportation infrastructure projects, not high-volume roadway paving programs.
