About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Cloud Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud solutions that support critical projects impacting national interests. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud-native development, enterprise migration strategies, and DevSecOps principles. You will lead efforts to shape cloud architecture, automate resource management, and implement delivery models such as PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS. This position requires working onsite in Huntsville, AL, and maintaining an active Top Secret clearance to handle sensitive government projects effectively.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in software or cloud development, with at least three years in senior or lead cloud roles. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on expertise with major cloud providers and hybrid/multi-cloud environments, along with advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java for cloud-native applications. Strong knowledge of automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible, as well as containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, is essential. A comprehensive understanding of DevSecOps principles and experience supporting mission-critical cloud applications are also required.
Preferred qualifications include professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect. Additional desirable skills include experience with Zero Trust Architecture, serverless technologies, event-driven design patterns, and familiarity with enterprise security frameworks like FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001. Candidates holding IAM/IAT Level 3 certifications such as CISM, CCSP, CASP, or CISSP will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
Research, architect, develop, and modify enterprise-wide systems and applications, including DevOps, security, and data analytics solutions.
Support planning and deployment of systems, ensuring compliance with software standards, and facilitating integration and data analytics initiatives.
Implement prototypes utilizing emerging technologies and innovative techniques to enhance system capabilities.
Conduct ongoing maintenance and review of application systems, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
Design and implement cloud service delivery models (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, DaaS) aligned with business, security, and compliance requirements.
Lead the development of reusable, scalable, and secure multi-cloud architectures, ensuring flexibility and resilience.
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab.
Enforce DevSecOps best practices by embedding security and compliance measures throughout the cloud development lifecycle.
Analyze existing applications for cloud readiness, develop migration strategies, and lead migration initiatives to ensure minimal disruption and maximum performance.
Develop strategies for cloud failure recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure cloud deployments meet all regulatory standards and internal policies.
Implement cloud-native security services and monitor for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and threats.
Mentor junior and mid-level developers on cloud technologies, best practices, and solution delivery, serving as a technical advisor across teams and participating in enterprise cloud governance initiatives.
