Plaintiff Attorney – Personal Injury & Civil Litigation

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Plaintiff Attorney to join a plaintiff-focused litigation practice handling personal injury, insurance bad faith, and complex civil litigation matters.
The ideal candidate is an experienced litigator who can independently manage plaintiff-side cases from intake through resolution while working closely with the firm’s lead attorney and support team.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage a caseload of plaintiff-side litigation matters from intake through resolution
Handle pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
Conduct legal research and prepare strong written work product
Evaluate claims, damages, liability, and overall case value
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
Prepare medical records, evidence, and expert materials
Assist with trial strategy and preparation
Travel within West Virginia and Ohio for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed
Work independently and effectively in a remote environment
Qualifications
Active West Virginia Bar license is required
Ohio Bar admission is a strong plus
Approximately 3–7+ years of litigation experience
Strong plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred
Experience in personal injury, trucking litigation, insurance bad faith, or related civil litigation
Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation matters
Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
Experience with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
Trial experience or significant courtroom exposure preferred
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Willingness and ability to travel as needed throughout West Virginia and Ohio

Who We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in attorneys who are actively licensed in West Virginia and have a strong background in plaintiff-side litigation. Ohio admission is helpful but not required.
