Mortgage Loan Originator/Loan officer

Role Description: The Mortgage Loan Originator/Loan Officer is responsible for originating residential loans and guiding clients through the mortgage application process from initial contact to closing in a remote, contract-based capacity. This role includes identifying and qualifying prospective borrowers, collecting and analyzing financial documentation, and recommending appropriate loan products aligned with client needs and eligibility. The Loan Officer will prepare and submit loan applications, coordinate with underwriting, and ensure all required disclosures and documentation comply with regulatory and company standards. Daily tasks involve finding leads and managing a pipeline of loans. You must maintain accurate records, communicate regularly with clients, real estate professionals, and internal teams, and provide timely status updates. The role also requires staying current on mortgage guidelines, interest rates, and market trends to provide informed advice and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
Skills in Loan Origination and Mortgage Lending, with a proven ability to manage the end-to-end mortgage process.
Experience with Underwriting principles and Loans, including evaluating creditworthiness and reviewing financial documentation.
Strong Finance knowledge, including understanding of interest rates, loan products, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, client service, and relationship-building skills in a remote work setting.
High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
Comfort with digital tools, loan origination systems (LOS), and secure document management platforms.
Prior experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator, Loan Officer, or in a related mortgage or financial services role.
Relevant state licensing or registration (such as NMLS) as required by applicable regulations.
Self-motivated, coachable, and organized with a heart for service and doing right by clients.
Ability to self-source business.
Please note that this is a 100% commission-based job. Our payout structures allow loan originators to be paid based on how they structure their loans. Max Comp. per transaction is $25,000. Average payout is between 275-300 bps. Best part, we hope you would like to build a team when ready.
