About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with extensive experience in Event-Driven Architecture, enterprise messaging, and cloud-native application development on Microsoft Azure. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient microservices and messaging solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement event streaming, messaging platforms, and API integrations that support our clients' digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and cloud technologies, enabling the delivery of high-throughput, low-latency solutions that meet demanding enterprise requirements.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
8+ years of hands-on experience with Java (J2EE), Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Proven experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
Strong expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
Extensive experience with Apache Kafka, including Kafka Producers, Consumers, Topics, Partitions, and Consumer Groups.
Proficiency in enterprise messaging platforms such as Solace PubSub+, IBM MQ, Azure Service Bus, and Event Hubs.
Deep understanding of event sourcing, CQRS, Saga pattern, and message reliability concepts.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SOAP services, and event-based integrations.
Mandatory knowledge of API security protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT validation, and secure service-to-service communication.
Experience with Azure services such as AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions, Storage, and networking.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
Experience with Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, or other Azure-hosted databases.
Backend development experience with Python and Node.js is preferred.
Preferred skills include Confluent Platform, Event Mesh architecture, GraphQL, observability tools, Linux scripting, and TDD/BDD practices.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement scalable event-driven microservices and messaging solutions aligned with enterprise requirements.
Build, enhance, and support enterprise-grade applications utilizing Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, and Azure messaging services.
Design event schemas, topics, queues, and integration patterns for distributed systems ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
Ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and observability of messaging platforms and integrations.
Develop comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, and performance testing for messaging and API solutions.
Collaborate with architects and technical leads to design innovative solutions and ensure adherence to best practices.
Create detailed documentation covering architecture, event flows, message contracts, and operational procedures.
Support production deployments, monitor system health, and troubleshoot issues related to messaging infrastructure and applications.
Implement and enforce security best practices for APIs and messaging platforms, including OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
Proactively identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, providing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and reliability.
