Role: Senior Analytics Engineer (Property & Casualty Insurance)
Location: Remote
Experience Level: Mid-Senior level (6–10+ years)
At Rockwoods, we are actively looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to support our client in the P&C Insurance industry. We’re seeking a hybrid expert who can bridge complex data and business needs, with strong experience in the insurance policy lifecycle, stakeholder collaboration, and designing high-performance data models within a modern data stack.
The Opportunity
We are not just looking for a data side operator. We need someone who has built reporting layers and analytics datasets inside a P&C insurance company. You must understand the internal workflows of Policy lifecycles, Claims processing, Billing cycles, and Finance reporting from the business side, translating that deep domain knowledge into models, dashboards, and validated datasets that drive critical decisions.
What You Will Do
Design and build optimized analytics datasets and reporting layers specifically tailored for P&C lines of business.
Develop, deploy, and maintain interactive, high-impact dashboards in Tableau and/or Power BI for our Policy, Claims, Billing, and Finance teams.
Translate complex business requirements from underwriting, claims, and finance stakeholders into intuitive dimensional data models.
Perform end-to-end data mapping, rigorous validation, testing, and reconciliation across various source systems.
Act as the technical translator and data partner for operations, claims, underwriting, and finance units.
What You Must Bring (Required Skills)
6 to 10+ years of direct experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or advanced business intelligence roles.
Deep P&C Insurance Expertise (Non-Negotiable): Hands-on experience working directly with Policy, Claims, Billing, or Insurance Finance data models.
Proven mastery of SQL and structural data modeling methodologies (dimensional modeling, star schemas).
A strong portfolio of creating enterprise-grade dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.
Solid experience with data validation, reconciliation, and testing methodologies.
Ability to work completely independently, manage projects, and interface directly with non-technical business leaders.
Nice to Have (Preferred Skills)
Experience working with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake) and transformation tools (dbt).
Legacy or pipeline tool background (Qlik, SSIS, or traditional ETL frameworks).
Familiarity with insurance regulatory reporting environments.
Why Join Us?
100% remote work flexibility.
Collaborative culture that values domain expertise just as much as technical coding skill.
Opportunity to fully own the analytics architecture for critical insurance business units.
