Role Description This is a remote internship role for a News Reporter. The News Reporter intern will research and pitch story ideas, conduct interviews, and gather information from a variety of sources, including public records, press events, and digital platforms. The role involves writing clear, accurate news articles and briefs, drafting occasional press releases, and collaborating with editors to refine angles and strengthen stories. Interns will monitor current events, verify facts, and adhere to editorial guidelines and ethical journalism standards. The position offers hands-on exposure to a digital newsroom environment and opportunities to build a professional portfolio.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Journalism, Reporting, and News Writing.
Proficiency in Writing and preparing Press Releases for public communication.
Ability to research, interview, and verify information from multiple sources.
Clear, concise written communication and attention to detail.
Interest in politics, civic issues, or public affairs, with a commitment to factual accuracy.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
Relevant coursework or experience in journalism, communications, or media is beneficial.
