Role Summary
We are seeking systems analysts to help client organizations improve and optimize their information systems. In this role, you will analyze business, engineering, and cybersecurity data processing problems, translate user requirements into system solutions, and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of software, systems, and enterprise architectures.
This posting covers two hiring levels. Candidates may be considered at Level I as a developing professional working under supervision, or at Level II as an experienced professional working with appreciable independence. Both levels perform the same core work; the difference lies in the complexity of assignments and the degree of autonomy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Systems Analysis & Requirements
Analyze science, engineering, business, cybersecurity, and other data processing problems in order to implement and improve information systems and architectures.
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate business processes or optimize existing information systems.
Architecture & Systems Design
Analyze, design, evaluate, and plan business architectures and information technology systems architectures to optimize the enterprise information technology architecture.
Solution Support & Technical Assistance
Provide support across analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software, systems, and technologies.
Provide technical assistance to the organization on existing and new technology across all areas of information technology, including platform, operations, network, applications, and security.
Standards & Client Support
Support clients in the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategy, doctrine, standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
An active Secret security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) / Department of War (DoW) clients or programs.
Experience — Level I
2+ years of related experience.
Applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures to work assignments.
Performs work requiring practical experience and training, under supervision.
Experience — Level II
5+ years of related experience.
Applies expertise across multiple complex work assignments.
Handles broad assignments that may require originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience gathering and analyzing user requirements and translating them into system or process solutions.
Experience supporting the design, implementation, or maintenance of enterprise applications or systems.
Experience working across more than one IT domain, such as platform, network, applications, operations, or security.
Experience documenting system designs, procedures, or technical standards.
Exposure to enterprise or business architecture concepts and modeling.
Experience in a government or public sector IT environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of systems, logic, programming concepts, and system components, with an understanding of how they fit together at the enterprise level.
Breadth of understanding across the business, data, technology, application, and organizational views of an enterprise.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues in existing systems and identify practical improvements.
Ability to elicit requirements from users and translate them into clear technical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively with client stakeholders and technical teams.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, well-supported analysis.
Organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple assignments and deadlines; at Level II, the ability to determine methodology and approach with limited direction.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work extended periods at a computer and participate in virtual and in-person client engagements.
