Description
Build the core data engineering capability that enables WPP Open applications, AI agents, analytics products, and business workflows to securely discover, access, combine, govern, and activate data across enterprise systems, client environments, media platforms, and third-party providers.
We are seeking four senior engineering specialists who will be responsible for implementation and delivery of key platform capabilities. While architecture leadership is provided by the platform architecture team, these hires are expected to bring deep expertise, contribute to solution design, challenge assumptions, and guide implementation decisions based on industry experience.
Requirements
Implement the platform capabilities that enable disparate data sources to be combined, virtualized, standardized, and exposed through a consistent access model without requiring extensive physical consolidation.
Experience with technologies and platforms such as
Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Purview
BigQuery, BigLake, Dataplex
Athena, Redshift Spectrum, Lake Formation, Glue
Data virtualization, federated query, semantic layer, or data fabric platforms
Strong Python
Job responsibilities
Implementing data virtualization and federation capabilities
Building federated query services
Developing semantic and abstraction layers
Creating reusable APIs and access services
Performance tuning, scalability, reliability, and operational support
Contributing to platform design and technology decisions through hands-on expertise
