Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Email Marketing Manager to own the day-to-day execution, measurement, and optimization of our email marketing program.
This is a hands-on role combining campaign execution, customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, deliverability, automation, and analytics.
We are not looking for someone who simply executes a predefined email calendar. The right candidate will be comfortable working directly in email platforms while also investigating the data, identifying opportunities, and proactively recommending who we should target, what we should send, when we should send it, and how we can improve results.
What You'll Do
Own email campaigns from audience selection and segmentation through testing, deployment, QA, and post-send analysis.
Build and optimize customer segments, lifecycle programs, automated journeys, retention, re-engagement, winback, and behavioral campaigns.
Analyze email and customer performance—including delivery, engagement, conversions, retention, and revenue—to understand what happened, why it happened, and what we should do next.
Monitor and protect email deliverability and sender reputation, including domain/IP health, authentication, inbox placement, spam signals, bounces, suppression, and list hygiene.
Develop and evaluate A/B tests across audiences, subject lines, content, creative, timing, cadence, and other campaign variables.
Maintain strong pre-send quality controls for targeting, exclusions, suppressions, links, tracking, personalization, creative, and send volume.
Develop and optimize email content, including subject lines, preheaders, calls to action, messaging, and basic campaign creative.
Build clear reporting and translate campaign and customer data into specific, actionable recommendations.
Work across marketing, data, product, design, and technical teams to improve campaign execution, automation, tracking, and performance.
What We're Looking For
Strong hands-on experience with email marketing, campaign execution, segmentation, and automation.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently investigate performance changes and identify opportunities in customer data.
Experience with lifecycle, retention, re-engagement, and behavioral marketing.
Solid understanding of email deliverability, sender/domain reputation, suppression, bounce management, authentication, list hygiene, and inbox placement.
Experience designing and evaluating email tests and applying the findings to future campaigns.
Strong attention to detail, particularly with audience selection, suppression logic, campaign configuration, and high-volume sends.
Ability to connect email engagement with customer behavior, conversion, retention, and revenue.
Strong written communication skills and an understanding of effective email copy and digital creative.
Working knowledge of design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
Comfortable using AI/LLM tools to support campaign development, analysis, research, and workflow efficiency.
Tools & Technology
Experience with our exact technology stack is not required. We're interested in candidates with transferable experience who can quickly learn new platforms.
Our tools include ActiveCampaign, SendGrid, NeverBounce, Google Postmaster Tools, GlockApps, Google Analytics, and AI/LLM tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
Experience with comparable email, CRM, marketing automation, analytics, or deliverability platforms is relevant.
What Success Looks Like
You'll help us build an email program that is increasingly data-driven, targeted, reliable, measurable, and optimized.
Campaigns are executed accurately. Segmentation becomes more sophisticated. Automated journeys improve. Deliverability is actively protected. Testing produces actionable learning. And reporting goes beyond describing performance to explaining why it changed and what we should do next.
This isn't a “press Send” position.
We're looking for someone who can own the email channel operationally, understand it analytically, protect its deliverability health, and continually find opportunities to improve performance.
