Sr. Account Director, Brand Strategy & Communications Role Description
We are seeking an experienced brand strategy and communications account manager to join our growing team. This role involves collaborating closely with the entire team to manage clients’ brand and communications strategy. This role includes strategy and execution across branding and communications. The ideal candidate will find powerful, creatively strategic ideas that help brands tell strong stories and define opportunities for growth in a concise and compelling manner. In your role, you will:
CLIENT LEADERSHIP AND BRAND STRATEGY
• Be the lead client liaison and account manager to ensure deliverables are on time
• Communicate with the client via Slack/Zoom/Email with a sense of urgency and timeliness
• Lead bi-weekly meetings and ensure meeting agendas and internal project management tool (Asana) are up-to-date
• Bring a deep understanding and extensive experience in marketing brand strategy, including PR, communications, brand messaging, and positioning development
• Conduct marketing research, including client and target audience interviews, to develop strategic recommendations; perform competitor research and summarize market insights
• Develop brand architectures, including but not limited to discovery interviews, buyer persona profiles, positioning territories, and brand principles, while supporting the creative team on brand identity deck development direction
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
• Shape communications strategies and inspirational creative briefs
• Lead, develop, and execute organic & paid marketing campaigns
• Develop client PR plans, including key company messaging
• Execute client communications, including short and long-form content deliverables
• Manage industry media relations for clients, including earned placements, press release distribution, and PR reporting
• Position clients for renewable energy awards and secure speaking opportunities for subject matter experts
Qualifications
• Background in Renewable Energy / Sustainability / CleanTech is required
• 7+ years of brand strategy and communications experience within a PR or marketing agency setting
• Naturally, multitasking is critical for the success of this role
• Excellent client communications skills & accessible to the team daily/weekly via Slack are expected
• Great attitude and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced role
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Email, MuckRack, Asana, Slack, Microsoft Teams & Google Drive
