Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership on electrical engineering and design for power generation and complex industrial facility projects. This individual will oversee electrical system design, studies, calculations, specifications, equipment selection, and technical execution from design through construction support. The role requires a strong power systems background and the ability to lead technical deliverables while working closely with clients, equipment vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead electrical engineering and design activities for power generation and industrial facility projects.
Develop and evaluate medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
Prepare and review single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, calculations, and design documentation.
Perform and review power system studies, including protection and relay coordination/settings.
Specify electrical equipment including switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and associated distribution equipment.
Develop grounding and lightning protection designs.
Prepare technical specifications and support equipment evaluation, selection, and procurement.
Coordinate electrical requirements with other engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, and contractors.
Provide technical support during construction, installation, startup, and other site activities.
Support project planning, budgets, schedules, and overall technical execution.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and design team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of electrical engineering/design experience, with a strong background in power systems.
Relevant project experience may include power generation facilities, central utility plants, microgrids, campus infrastructure, or similar large industrial facilities.
Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, switchgear, MCCs, protective relaying, grounding, and electrical equipment application.
Experience performing or reviewing electrical studies using ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, or comparable power system analysis software.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
Experience leading electrical design deliverables and coordinating across multidisciplinary project teams.
Ability to interface effectively with clients, equipment vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
