Independent Sales Representative — Commission Only

Emerge Initiatives partners with organizations on leadership and professional development, including our LEAP framework workshops. We also sell sponsorship packages, advertising space, and event partnerships. We're looking for one self-directed sales representative to build a pipeline and close business across these offerings.
What you'll do
Generate new business through cold calling and cold email
Move prospects from first contact to signed agreement
Log every touch in Excel — date, channel, outcome, and next step
Own your follow-up cadence and manage your own pipeline
How this role works
This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. You set your own schedule, choose your own methods, use your own phone and computer, and are free to represent other non-competing clients.
You'll receive a 1099-NEC. No taxes are withheld, and you're responsible for your own tax obligations. No benefits, workers' compensation, or unemployment coverage are provided.
Compensation
Commission only: 20% of collected revenue on closed business. No draw, no base, no expense reimbursement.
Full terms — commission rates, when a commission is earned, payment timing, and how commissions are treated after the agreement ends — are set out in a written contract you'll review before starting.
What we're looking for
Consistent follow-through without day-to-day supervision
Comfort working entirely on commission
Discipline about documentation
Honesty and accuracy in how you represent our work
Willingness to follow all applicable telemarketing and email regulations, including DNC scrubbing and honoring opt-outs
Prior B2B sales or appointment-setting experience is a plus, not a requirement
