Role Description The Anti Money Laundering (AML) Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The role involves monitoring transactions and customer activity to identify potential money laundering or sanction breaches, using internal systems and analytical tools. The AML Analyst reviews alerts, conducts detailed investigations, prepares case summaries, and escalates suspicious activity reports in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements. Daily responsibilities include performing customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence, validating data accuracy, maintaining documentation, and supporting regulatory and internal audits. The role also collaborates with compliance, risk, and operations teams to strengthen AML controls, improve processes, and contribute to ongoing training and awareness efforts.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills for transaction monitoring, risk assessment, and pattern identification.
Candidates should possess due diligence and enhanced due diligence skills for customer onboarding, periodic reviews, and investigations.
Candidates should possess finance and banking knowledge, including an understanding of financial products, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills to prepare clear reports, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and document findings.
Candidates should possess sanction screening and awareness of global and local sanctions regimes, watchlists, and related compliance requirements.
Relevant experience in AML, compliance, or risk management within financial services is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, law, or a related field; professional certifications in AML or compliance (e.g., CAMS) are an advantage.
Strong attention to detail, ethical judgment, and ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
