VMC Programmer and Operator

Role Description The VMC Programmer and Operator will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Vertical Machining Centers to produce high-precision components as per drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include creating and optimizing CNC programs, selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, performing machine setup and adjustments, and monitoring production to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, troubleshooting machining issues, performing routine maintenance checks, and coordinating with quality and production teams to meet delivery timelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts relevant to CNC programming, including numerical control and basic computing principles.
Programming skills with an understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) or similar structured approaches for creating and managing CNC programs.
Experience or exposure to Software Development and Back-End logic that supports program optimization, toolpath generation, and data handling.
Hands-on experience in VMC operation, CNC programming (e.g., G-code), tooling selection, and machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets.
Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in machining.
Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a production environment.
