Role Description The PBM NCPDP Claims Test Engineer contract role is responsible for validating pharmacy benefit management (PBM) claims processing systems that use NCPDP standards. In this remote position, the engineer designs, executes, and maintains test cases to ensure accurate adjudication of pharmacy claims, proper application of benefit rules, and compliance with industry specifications. Daily activities include reviewing functional requirements, creating test data, performing functional and regression testing, documenting defects, and collaborating with developers and business analysts to resolve issues. The role also involves analyzing test results, refining test coverage, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and processes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Test Engineering and Testing, with experience in structured test methodologies and quality assurance processes.
Candidates should possess skills in Test Execution and Test Cases, including designing, maintaining, and running test scenarios for complex claims workflows.
Candidates should possess skills in Functional Testing, with the ability to validate system behavior against PBM business rules and NCPDP requirements.
Experience with PBM claims processing, NCPDP standards, or healthcare/pharmacy systems is highly beneficial.
Working knowledge of NCPDP Telecommunication Standard Version D.0; exposure to Version F6 implementation or standards migration
Proficiency with test management tools, defect tracking systems, and SQL or similar query languages for data validation is preferred.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, contract environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
