Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Engineer role based in Odapada. The Engineer will support industrial projects and operations, including monitoring and maintaining material handling systems, equipment, and structures in line with safety and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities may involve supervising fabrication and erection activities, coordinating with project and operations teams, inspecting equipment performance, and assisting in commissioning and shutdown maintenance tasks. The role includes preparing technical documentation, reporting operational issues, suggesting improvements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution and efficient plant operations. The Engineer is expected to follow company procedures and regulatory guidelines while contributing to continuous improvement and reliability of services.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in engineering principles related to mechanical, civil, or industrial systems, preferably with experience in fabrication, erection, or material handling.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment specifications, and project documents, and translate them into practical on-site execution.
Knowledge of industrial safety practices, quality standards, and compliance requirements within plant and port operations.
Proficiency in basic engineering tools and software (e.g., MS Office, CAD or similar), and familiarity with IT-enabled reporting systems.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with supervisors, technicians, and client representatives.
Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting abilities for equipment and process-related issues.
Ability to work in an on-site industrial environment, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to shifting operational priorities.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline) from a recognized institution.
Prior experience in steel plants, smelters, port operations, bulk material handling, or similar heavy industry environments is an advantage.
