Role Description The Financial Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Naperville, IL, responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and financial reporting activities. This role manages the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensures accurate general ledger maintenance, and oversees month-end and year-end closing processes. The Financial Controller monitors cash flow, budgets, and forecasts, and provides financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Daily responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, coordinating audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and improving financial processes and reporting systems. The role collaborates closely with leadership, property management, and other internal teams to support operational efficiency and financial performance.
Qualifications
Strong Accounting skills, including general ledger management and knowledge of GAAP.
Experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and related disclosures.
Expertise in Finance and Financial Reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data and supporting business decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience as a controller or in senior accounting roles, ideally within real estate or property management.
Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, and strong Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance/accounting team, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to maintaining robust internal controls.
