Design Leader - Mold Design

Role Description The Design Leader – Mold Design is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida. This role is responsible for leading the design of injection molds, overseeing concept development, detailed design, and design validation for new and existing tools. The Design Leader collaborates with engineering, production, and quality teams to translate customer requirements into robust mold designs, review design feasibility, and address technical issues during tooling, trial runs, and pilot production. Daily tasks include managing design projects, mentoring designers, ensuring adherence to standards and timelines, coordinating with suppliers and customers on design changes, and supporting continuous improvement in mold performance and manufacturability.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in mold design, including 3D CAD modeling, detailed drawing creation, and design for manufacturability of injection molds.
Experience leading design projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and guiding junior designers or engineers.
Solid understanding of tooling, machining processes, materials for molds, and troubleshooting mold performance during trials.
Knowledge of injection molding processes, part design considerations, tolerances, and quality standards relevant to mold manufacturing.
Ability to interpret customer specifications, manage design changes, and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience in a mold design/manufacturing environment, preferably with global customers, is highly beneficial.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on-site in a fast-paced production setting in Noida.
