We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Designer with a solid background in Research and Development (R&D) to join our team in Coimbatore, India. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, testing, and refinement of mechanical components and systems, bringing innovative concepts to life.
This role requires strong analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for advancing mechanical design through research-driven insights. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions from concept through to completion.
Design and Development: Develop and design mechanical components, systems, and technical specifications. Apply the Stage Gate process to ensure design projects move smoothly through critical phases, adhering to timelines and quality standards.
3D Modelling and CAD: Utilize SolidWorks for part modeling, assembly, drafting, and weldments. Manage design traceability and version control using SolidWorks PDM Works. Generate BOMs and manage engineering change orders (ECOs). Apply GD&T principles throughout the design process.
Design Analysis: Conduct hands-on FEA and other engineering analysis to evaluate structural, thermal, and fatigue characteristics of designs. Integrate welding standards (AWS, ISO) into design and drafting workflows.
Communication and Collaboration: Clearly articulate design concepts, technical specifications, and project updates to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaborative problem-solving.
Mandatory Skills:
Proficiency in SolidWorks including part modeling, assembly, drafting, and Weldments (mandatory)
Experience with SolidWorks PDM Works for version control and traceability
Strong CAD tools expertise (mandatory)
Technical Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in mechanical design with an R&D focus
Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Hands-on experience with FEA software for structural, thermal, and fatigue analysis
Knowledge of welding standards (AWS, ISO) and their application in design
Experience generating BOMs and managing ECOs
Familiarity with the Stage Gate product development process
Soft Skills:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
