Senior Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator with 9+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale Oracle database environments. The successful candidate will own the installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, high availability, and overall health of Oracle databases supporting mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle database environments, including Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c, and 21c.
Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate environments.
Monitor database performance and proactively tune SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, memory, and database parameters.
Design, implement, test, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, restore service quickly, and produce clear root cause analysis and preventive actions.
Implement database security controls and support access reviews, audit requirements, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities.
Perform database migrations, upgrades, refreshes, cloning, capacity planning, and storage management.
Support 24x7 production environments and participate in an on-call rotation when required.
Automate recurring DBA tasks using Shell Scripting, Python, or Ansible.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and information security teams to deliver stable and scalable database services.
Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, recovery guides, and operational runbooks.
Lead database modernization, upgrade, and reliability improvement initiatives, while mentoring junior DBAs.
Required Skills and Experience :
Capability
Oracle Platform
Oracle Database Administration; Oracle RAC; ASM; Data Guard; RMAN; Oracle Enterprise Manager; GoldenGate; performance tuning.
Operating Systems
Strong administration and troubleshooting experience on Linux, including RHEL or Oracle Linux, and Unix environments.
Core DBA Capabilities
Backup and recovery; disaster recovery; database cloning and migration; capacity planning; high availability; patching; performance optimization.
Scripting and Automation
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL; Shell Scripting; working knowledge of Python; automation experience is strongly preferred.
Production Support
Demonstrated experience independently managing large, business-critical Oracle databases in 24x7 environments.
Cloud Exposure
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure-hosted Oracle workloads is preferred.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Oracle Certified Professional certification is preferred; Oracle Certified Master is an advantage.
Strong experience supporting large-scale enterprise production databases.
Preferred Experience :
Oracle Exadata administration and performance management.
DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.
Monitoring and observability using Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, or Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Banking, financial services, insurance, FinTech, or enterprise application environments.
Experience managing databases larger than 5 TB.
Docker, Kubernetes, and database integration with CI/CD pipelines.
ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management.
