Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Article Assistant role based in Ranchi. The Article Assistant will support audit and assurance engagements, including vouching, verification of records, and documentation of working papers under the supervision of senior staff. Responsibilities include assisting with preparation of financial statements, tax computations, and filings, as well as maintaining organized client files and schedules. The role involves performing basic accounting entries, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The Article Assistant will also participate in learning sessions, stay updated on relevant accounting and taxation standards, and communicate professionally with clients and internal team members.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in accounting principles, auditing concepts, and basic taxation, with the ability to apply them in practical scenarios.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools; familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear working papers and interact professionally with clients.
Good analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, follow guidance from seniors, and manage time across multiple assignments.
Enrollment in or completion of professional chartered accountancy coursework (e.g., CA articleship eligibility) or equivalent qualifications, as applicable.
High ethical standards, integrity, and willingness to learn and adapt to changing regulations and firm methodologies.
Prior internship or practical exposure in accounting, audit, or finance is beneficial but not mandatory.
