Job Description
We are looking for a strong hands-on Data Modeling professional with proven experience in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Enterprise Data Warehousing, and Dimensional Data Modeling.
The primary responsibility will be to design and implement scalable Star Schema and Snowflake Schema data models supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and semantic modeling requirements.
Key Skills
Strong experience in Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW)
Expert knowledge of Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
Strong experience in Dimensional Data Modeling
Kimball methodology
Fact and Dimension design
Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 1 & Type 2)
Conformed dimensions, bridge tables, snapshots and aggregates
Microsoft Fabric – Lakehouse, Warehouse and Semantic Models
Azure Synapse Analytics
Power BI Semantic Models and Direct Lake
Advanced SQL / T-SQL
Data Governance and Metadata Management
Delta Lake concepts
Performance optimization for large-scale analytical workloads
Responsibilities
Design conceptual, logical and physical data models.
Develop enterprise-grade Fact and Dimension models.
Design Star and Snowflake schemas based on business requirements.
Build and maintain reusable semantic models for reporting and analytics.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers and reporting teams.
Support Fabric and Synapse-based data warehouse modernization initiatives.
Establish data modeling standards, documentation, governance and best practices.
Optimize data models for performance and scalability.
