About the Opportunity:
The LOAN PROCESSOR role is central to the underwriting team, responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of small business applicants and managing credit portfolio tasks. This position ensures accurate processing of funding applications and supports underwriting decisions by maintaining clear documentation and communication. The role contributes directly to the organization's lending operations by preparing loans for timely funding and supporting overall credit risk management.
Responsibilities:
Process incoming funding applications using internal systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Review and input data from bank statements, credit reports, and business documents
Verify consistency of key business and applicant information across documents
Address processing issues and escalate when necessary
Identify and request corrections for missing, expired, or inconsistent documentation
Prepare files for the next stage of review, ensuring they are clean and complete
Conduct final reviews including due diligence steps such as merchant interviews and verification calls
Confirm all funding conditions are met and the deal is ready for funding
Maintain clear and accurate notes in internal systems
Communicate with internal teams to ensure efficient file progression
Support ad-hoc projects and operational needs as required
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Some exposure to finance, lending, banking, underwriting support, or document review is beneficial but not required
Basic comfort with reviewing bank statements, credit reports, or business documentation
Ability to follow defined workflows and instructions
Willingness to learn about working capital products and internal systems
Strong work ethic suited to a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Coachable and eager to learn
Team-oriented and accountable
