Role Description The Senior Financial Controller is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing the company’s financial management and reporting. This role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounting operations, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing financial data, monitoring budgets and forecasts, maintaining internal controls, and supporting compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Senior Financial Controller will collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and recommend process improvements. This role also includes guiding junior finance or accounting team members, where applicable, and coordinating with external auditors or advisors as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Finance and Analytical Skills to support budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven decision making.
Candidates should possess experience in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely disclosures.
Candidates should possess solid Accounting knowledge to manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet and financial systems (e.g., Excel, ERP or accounting software) is highly beneficial.
Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
Demonstrated experience in a senior financial or controller role, ideally within an operations- or logistics-focused industry.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time environment.
Experience with financial controls, audit processes, and regulatory compliance frameworks is beneficial.
