Information Security Analyst

Role Description The Information Security Analyst at Mind‑X is a part-time, remote role responsible for protecting the organization’s digital assets and information systems. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring security events, analyzing alerts, and investigating potential incidents across networks and applications. The role involves assessing vulnerabilities, supporting security controls, and helping implement best practices in cybersecurity and information governance. The analyst will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to provide security recommendations, document findings, and contribute to security awareness efforts. This position requires proactive communication, structured analysis, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including familiarity with security frameworks, risk assessment, and incident response.
Candidates should possess Network Security skills, such as understanding of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network design.
Candidates should possess Application Security skills, including basic secure coding principles, vulnerability identification, and knowledge of common application threats.
Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret logs, assess complex data, and make clear, evidence-based security recommendations.
Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Industry certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, CEH, or similar) are beneficial.
Experience with security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners) and familiarity with compliance or regulatory standards is an advantage.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
