Role Description The Java Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and microservices used in enterprise environments. Responsibilities include implementing features using Java, Spring, and Jakarta EE, writing clean and testable code, and collaborating with architects to define and refine technical solutions. The role involves troubleshooting and optimizing existing applications, integrating APIs and external services, and participating in code reviews and documentation. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and product stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software. This is a contract role and follows a hybrid work model based in Chennai, with a combination of in-office and work-from-home days.
Qualifications
Strong programming skills in Java and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
Hands-on experience with Jakarta EE for building robust, scalable enterprise applications.
Proficiency in the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security) for modern application development.
Experience designing and implementing Microservices architectures, including RESTful APIs and service integration.
Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, and basic data modeling concepts.
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins or similar) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).
Ability to write unit and integration tests, and work effectively with QA and DevOps teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate in hybrid, cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and API management solutions is an advantage.
