Senior | Principal Backend Engineer

The opportunity
KUP Partner is hiring for a digital banking platform in Ho Chi Minh City. Full-time, hybrid: four office days and one work-from-home day weekly.
Two openings. The role focuses on Java platform engineering, internal developer tools and scalable backend architecture.
What you will do
Build internal frameworks, SDKs and reusable platform components.
Set standards for API design, microservices, observability, reliability and performance.
Improve developer tooling, CI/CD and cloud cost efficiency; run technical evaluations and proofs of concept.
Architect distributed services with Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes and Kafka/RabbitMQ.
Mentor senior engineers and solve complex production issues across teams.
What we are looking for
6+ years in backend engineering, including hands-on technical leadership at Staff, Principal or equivalent level.
4+ years with Java and Spring Boot; strong microservices, distributed systems, Kubernetes, event-driven architecture and production-scale system design.
Experience building internal frameworks, SDKs or developer tooling; knowledge of CI/CD and observability.
Professional English for daily collaboration with regional engineering leadership.
Fintech, banking, payments or platform engineering experience is a plus. A stable record of delivery matters.
