Position: Scientific Computing / Research Engineering Expert - Engineering
Type: Short-Term Contract
Compensation: $50 per hour
Location: Remote
Duration: 10 weeks
Commitment: 40 hours/week with 4 hours of PST overlap per day
Start Date: Immediate
Role Responsibilities
Develop realistic, terminal-based scientific and technical tasks for training and evaluating AI agents.
Translate engineering workflows into reproducible computational tasks.
Create tasks involving modeling, simulation, optimization, data processing, debugging, and technical validation.
Develop expert reference solutions and automated grading criteria.
Build, debug, and validate reproducible computational engineering workflows.
Requirements
PhD in mechanical, electrical, chemical, aerospace, civil, materials, biomedical, control systems, robotics, computational design, or another engineering discipline.
Scientific programming experience using Python, R, Julia, or Bash.
Hands-on experience with Linux or terminal-based environments.
Experience in engineering simulation, modeling, numerical analysis, optimization, signal processing, control systems, or technical data analysis.
Strong understanding of numerical methods, engineering units, physical constraints, boundary conditions, and technical validation.
Ability to independently build, debug, and validate reproducible computational workflows.
