Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Cloud ALM Specialist – SAP Basis to design, implement, configure, administer, and support SAP Cloud ALM across enterprise SAP landscapes.
The consultant will be responsible for SAP Cloud ALM setup, monitoring, operations, implementation, integration, and lifecycle management, with a strong SAP Basis foundation. The role will work closely with SAP Basis, functional, infrastructure, security, development, and application teams to establish effective application monitoring, health monitoring, integration monitoring, job monitoring, transport management, and implementation/project management capabilities.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Basis, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Solution Manager, and enterprise SAP landscapes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, configure, implement, and administer SAP Cloud ALM for enterprise SAP environments.
Configure SAP Cloud ALM for:
System and application monitoring
Health monitoring
Integration and interface monitoring
Job and automation monitoring
Business process monitoring
Real user monitoring
Transport and change management
Implementation and project management
Establish and maintain SAP Cloud ALM connectivity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BTP, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other SAP/cloud systems.
Configure and maintain SAP Cloud Connector and related connectivity components where required.
Perform SAP Cloud ALM tenant setup, system registration, managed-system configuration, users, roles, authorizations, and security settings.
Monitor SAP systems and proactively identify system health, performance, availability, and integration issues.
Configure alerts, thresholds, notifications, dashboards, and monitoring policies.
Support SAP Basis operations including system administration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, transports, background jobs, interfaces, and system availability.
Support integration between SAP Cloud ALM and enterprise monitoring/ITSM tools.
Configure and support SAP Cloud ALM ITSM capabilities and integration with service-management platforms where applicable.
Support SAP implementation teams by configuring SAP Cloud ALM Implementation / Activate methodology capabilities.
Configure projects, requirements, tasks, milestones, deliverables, and implementation documentation within SAP Cloud ALM.
Support implementation and migration projects through SAP Cloud ALM.
Assist with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP S/4HANA on-premise lifecycle management.
Analyze SAP system performance and coordinate remediation with Basis, infrastructure, network, database, security, and application teams.
Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, authorization, monitoring, and integration issues.
Develop operational procedures, technical documentation, monitoring standards, runbooks, and support processes.
Establish dashboards and reporting for system availability, performance, incidents, jobs, interfaces, and operational KPIs.
Support SAP release, upgrade, patching, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
Work with SAP functional teams to identify and resolve application monitoring and integration issues.
Participate in incident, problem, and change-management processes.
Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to Basis and application-support teams.
Maintain strong governance around SAP Cloud ALM configuration, security, access, and operational processes.
Work independently and provide technical leadership on SAP Cloud ALM initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
8+ years of SAP Basis / SAP technical administration experience.
3+ years of hands-on SAP Cloud ALM experience.
Strong hands-on experience configuring and administering SAP Cloud ALM.
Experience with SAP Cloud ALM Monitoring and Operations capabilities.
Experience with SAP Cloud ALM Implementation / SAP Activate.
Strong SAP Basis experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC environments.
Experience with SAP system monitoring, performance management, background jobs, transports, interfaces, and troubleshooting.
Experience integrating SAP Cloud ALM with enterprise SAP landscapes.
Experience with SAP BTP and SAP Cloud Connector.
Experience with SAP system connectivity, certificates, authentication, destinations, and technical users.
Understanding of SAP architecture across on-premise, private-cloud, and public-cloud environments.
Experience with SAP system health and availability monitoring.
Strong understanding of SAP integrations, APIs, interfaces, and technical connectivity.
Experience with SAP Solution Manager and migration/transition from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM is highly preferred.
Experience with SAP Cloud ALM alerting, dashboards, notifications, and reporting.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
SAP Cloud ALM certification or relevant SAP certification.
SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration / SAP Basis.
SAP S/4HANA certification.
SAP BTP certification.
Experience with SAP Solution Manager 7.2.
Experience with SAP Focused Run.
Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
Experience supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
Experience with SAP RISE / SAP Cloud Private Edition.
Knowledge of SAP security, roles, authorizations, and identity management.
Experience with SAP integrations involving SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, SAC, CPI/Integration Suite, or other SAP cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate is not simply an SAP Basis Administrator. They should have demonstrable hands-on experience implementing and administering SAP Cloud ALM, while possessing strong underlying SAP Basis knowledge.
For this requirement, I would treat SAP Cloud ALM hands-on experience as the key screening requirement. General SAP Basis, Solution Manager, or SAP S/4HANA experience should be considered transferable rather than a direct match unless the candidate specifically demonstrates Cloud ALM experience.
