US healthcare technology company building a telemedicine platform plus web and mobile applications that track US medication prices and provide discounts.
Engagement Overview
TechConsultCo is seeking a Senior​/​Expert AI​/​ML Engineer with mandatory, hands-on production experience in Glean to design and deliver agentic AI systems on an enterprise stack. This is a builder role: you will own agents end-to-end from design through production deployment, monitoring, and iteration, with strong attention to reliability, security, maintainability, and governance.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
• Build production agents in Glean using Agent Builder (triggers, multi-step orchestration, actions, memory) grounded in enterprise data through connectors and permission-aware retrieval.
• Design and implement LLM reasoning pipelines using OpenAI​/​GPT Enterprise via Glean Model Hub and​/​or API (prompting, structured outputs, tool​/​function calling, retrieval context, quality​/​confidence scoring).
• Develop custom actions and integrations where native connectors do not exist, including authentication, error handling, retries, and rate-limit-aware batching.
• Create reusable patterns​/​services for agent capabilities (data access, retrieval, governance, reasoning components) to reduce bespoke build and speed future agent delivery.
• Implement evaluation and safety guardrails including offline​/​online evals, confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop routing, monitoring, and observability for production readiness.
• Operate agents as production software by tuning for reliability, latency, and cost while maintaining secure handling of sensitive data and auditable behavior.
• Communicate clearly with client stakeholders by explaining architecture decisions, trade-offs, and delivery status in a structured, decision-ready manner.
Must-Have Qualifications
• Experience: 8+ years total engineering experience with 3+ years hands-on building LLM​/​agentic systems used by real users in production.
• Glean (mandatory): Direct, hands-on production experience with Glean including Agent Builder, Actions, Model Hub, connectors, and permission-aware retrieval.
• Agentic AI: Proven experience with tool​/​function calling, RAG, multi-step orchestration, and memory patterns.
• OpenAI ​/​ GPT Enterprise: Deep practical experience with model selection, prompt engineering, structured outputs, function calling, latency​/​cost tuning, and enterprise data-handling controls.
• Evaluation-first mindset: Ability to measure and improve quality using evals and metrics rather than subjective inspection.
• Cloud: Production experience on AWS and​/​or GCP including IAM, secrets management, networking fundamentals, and cost awareness.
• Engineering: Strong Python fundamentals with clean, tested, maintainable code; API design; CI​/​CD; version control.
• Integrations: Experience integrating enterprise SaaS via APIs (e.g., Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, ticketing​/​GRC tools), including auth flows, webhooks, and event patterns.
• Data handling: Competence moving and transforming data between systems and handling sensitive data securely.
• Working model: Ability to work remotely with at least EST overlap (PST preferred).
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Governance: Experience designing controlled tool access, permission models, and audit trails for enterprise AI systems.
• Observability​/​IR: Familiarity with monitoring AI systems for drift, alerting, and incident response​/​root-cause analysis.
• Regulated environments: Exposure to healthcare, finance, accounting, or other regulated settings where auditability and data governance are critical.
• Consulting delivery: Prior client-facing experience delivering in embedded team environments.

• You ship reliable, secure Glean agents to production quickly and iterate based on measurable evals and monitoring.
• You build maintainable systems with minimal bespoke surface area and reusable components that accelerate future agent delivery.
• You proactively manage platform constraints (tool-call budgets, payload limits, rate limits) and deliver stable production behavior.
• You communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, making decisions and trade-offs easy to understand.
