Role Description The Pharmacy Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at Dhanvantri Hospital’s facility in Kanpur. The role involves dispensing medications according to prescriptions, verifying dosages, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and hospital standards. The Pharmacy Specialist will prepare and oversee compounding of medications when required, maintain accurate medication records, and manage inventory, including ordering and storage of drugs and supplies. Daily responsibilities include counseling patients on proper medication use, coordinating with physicians and nurses to clarify prescriptions, and supporting pharmacy technicians in workflow management. The role also requires maintaining a clean and safe pharmacy environment and contributing to quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Pharmacy practices and regulations, including safe medication dispensing.
Ability to accurately interpret and process Prescription orders and collaborate with prescribers.
Experience working with or supervising Pharmacy Technicians in a clinical or hospital setting.
Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and clinical staff.
Competence in Compounding medications following established protocols and safety standards.
Diploma or degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution; valid professional registration/licensure as required by local regulations.
Familiarity with hospital information systems and electronic prescription platforms is an advantage.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
