About the placement
We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer Intern to contribute to real product development across the front end, back end and testing. You will work with a small, hands-on team and learn how an early-stage product moves from requirements to shipped features.
What you will do
• Build responsive, accessible front-end components using JavaScript or TypeScript and React, Next.js or a comparable framework.
• Develop and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js, Python, Java or Go.
• Work with relational or NoSQL databases and contribute to data models and integrations.
• Write unit and integration tests, investigate bugs and help improve reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, daily stand-ups and sprint planning, communicating technical decisions clearly.
• Work with product and design colleagues to turn ideas into usable features.
What we are looking for
Required:
• A current student on a UK-based further or higher education course that requires a placement for completion.
• Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript and the fundamentals of web development.
• Interest in React, Node.js, Python or another modern full-stack technology.
• Familiarity with Git and willingness to learn through real engineering work.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and technical communication skills.
Preferred:
• A GitHub profile, portfolio or deployed project to share.
• Experience with REST APIs, SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, automated testing or cloud tooling.
• Experience working in an agile or collaborative development environment.
Location and timing
• Remote — United Kingdom only
• Start date: Immediately
• Placement duration: Less than 12 months, aligned with university requirements

Compensation and eligibility
This is an unpaid university placement. It is intended for students whose UK-based further or higher education course requires a placement of less than 12 months. Please confirm that this arrangement is eligible with your university before applying.
