Junior AI/ML Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Junior AI/ML Engineer at Inquiry Nepal. The Junior AI/ML Engineer will help design, implement, and evaluate machine learning models to improve search, recommendation, and pattern recognition across business listings and user interactions. Day-to-day tasks include data collection and preprocessing, feature engineering, training and tuning neural network and other ML models, and analyzing performance using statistical methods. The role also involves collaborating with senior engineers and product stakeholders to translate business requirements into algorithmic solutions, supporting deployment of models into production systems, and documenting models, experiments, and workflows. The engineer is expected to follow coding best practices, participate in code reviews, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Algorithms, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Knowledge of Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks for building and improving machine learning models.
Understanding of Statistics for data analysis, model evaluation, and performance measurement.
Familiarity with common AI/ML frameworks and tools (such as Python, NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch).
Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a distributed team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn new methods and technologies.
Experience or interest in search, recommendation systems, or information retrieval is a plus.
