About the Opportunity
Pearl offers qualified appraisers the opportunity to participate on our platform as independent contractors. This is not an employment position and does not include employee benefits. Participating Experts maintain full professional independence and are responsible for complying with applicable professional standards and requirements in their field.
As an Appraiser Expert, you may choose to respond to customer inquiries submitted through the platform and provide professional information and guidance related to the identification, valuation, and assessment of items and property within your area of expertise.
This flexible engagement model allows you to supplement your existing practice or professional work while maintaining full control over your schedule and participation level.
You have full control over:
Setting your own availability
Choosing which customer questions to answer
Engaging with customers via chat or phone
Providing professional appraisal-related insight remotely
Determining how often you participate
There are no long-term commitments required.
Compensation
Participating Experts are compensated on a per-engagement basis for completed interactions. Compensation varies depending on the nature of the engagement and applicable factors. Payments are issued on a monthly basis. There are no fees to apply or join the platform.
Optional Technology & Practice Support Tools
In addition to answering customer inquiries, Experts may choose to access optional tools designed to support workflow and customer communication, including:
Practice management features
Customer intake and communication tools
Optional access to customer inquiries submitted through the platform
Use of these tools is entirely optional and intended to provide additional flexibility based on your individual needs.
Qualifications
Candidates should meet one of the following qualification pathways:
Active membership, certification, or accreditation from a reputable national or international appraisal association, such as ISA, ASA, IAAO, IVSC, AOA, AAA, ADAA, or PADA, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience (e.g., appraiser, auctioneer, curator, instrument designer, or maker)
A degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Art Business, Contemporary Art, Fine and Decorative Art & Design, or Gemology, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience if you do not hold one of the above certifications, memberships, accreditations, or degrees
