About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Video Editor (Motion Graphics & Animation Focus)We are...
A leading digital media and content production group with a large global presence. At EMP, we believe in the power of content to unite and inspire people. With our innovative approach and content-first mentality, we're redefining how content is consumed and shared. We help create content at the highest level including some of the biggest professional athlete led podcasts in the world.
Like all winning teams, we value respect, creativity, and fun. We operate in a dynamic environment where collaboration drives ideation and where you will help shape the ever-growing media landscape as we know it. Here at EMP, we provide an opportunity for your voice to be heard and create a space where you can have fun in the process. We're not just about work, rather we look to build a community that celebrates victories, learns from hardships, and grows as one. EMP is a place where your talent can shine while you make a real impact along the way.
You Are...
An experienced video editor with serious motion graphics and animation chops, ideally built inside media, entertainment, or sports. You can cut a show and you can build the entire look of that show: the logo sting, the titles, the lower thirds, the segment cards, the end card. You think in motion, you sweat timing and easing, and you get excited about giving a podcast or series a visual identity people recognize in two seconds. You are passionate about growth, entrepreneurial in spirit, and able to work in collaboration with a team.
You Will...
Design and animate show packages
Build full graphics packages from scratch for podcasts, YouTube series, and social franchises: animated logo stings, animated intros and cold opens, lower thirds, segment and chapter cards, transitions, bumpers, end cards, and subscribe/CTA animations.
Animate logos and brand marks for shows, talent, partners, and sponsors, keeping the motion true to each property's visual identity.
Develop the look before the build: style frames, mood boards, and short animation tests to pitch a direction to hosts and producers.
Create stat and data graphics, score bugs, name callouts, quote cards, and kinetic typography built for sports and interview content.
Design sponsor and branded content graphics: promo bumpers, ad end cards, product callouts, and integrated sponsor billboards.
Build reusable, templated systems (Motion Graphics Templates / MOGRTs, master comps, expression-driven rigs) so a package can roll out across every episode and every editor on the team without getting rebuilt each week.
Maintain a clean, versioned library of project files, templates, fonts, and brand assets so the team can move fast and stay consistent.
Bring in 3D or camera-driven elements where they raise the bar (Cinema 4D, Blender, Element 3D, or similar).
Edit and finish the shows
Edit audio and video for podcasts, YouTube videos, advertisements, branded content, social content and more to create high-quality, color corrected, synchronized video content.
Ensure audio clarity, correct sync issues, and enhance sound quality with noise reduction, EQ, and other techniques.
Add intro/outro music, sound effects, and transitions for a professional and polished final product.
Select impactful or interesting moments from episodes to create shorter video clips for social platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).
Tailor clips for specific platform requirements (aspect ratios, length, captioning) and audience engagement, including animated captions and platform-native graphic treatments.
Work closely with hosts, producers, and social media managers to align on styles, themes, key messages, and desired tone.
And more...
Job RequirementsYou Have...
The ability to speak advanced to fluent English.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in video editing and motion graphics, preferably with podcast or interview-style content.
Advanced Adobe After Effects skills. This is required, not a nice to have. You should be comfortable building original animation from a blank comp: shape layers, masks and mattes, precomps, parenting and rigging, expressions, and MOGRT authoring for the wider team.
Strong command of animation fundamentals: timing, easing, weight, anticipation, and staging. Your work should feel designed, not defaulted.
A real eye for typography, layout, hierarchy, and color as they apply to on-screen graphics.
Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software, with clean AE to Premiere roundtrip workflows (Dynamic Link, template handoff, render and delivery specs).
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for prepping vectors, cleaning up logos, and building your own assets rather than waiting on someone else.
Strong understanding of sound design and color correction. Familiarity with audio software (Audacity, Adobe Audition) is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and quality control in all aspects of editing and design.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
A portfolio or reel that clearly shows original motion design work. Include show packages, animated logos, title sequences, or brand systems you built, and tell us what was yours on each piece. Template drops alone will not tell us what we need to know.
Bonus Points For...
3D work in Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, or Element 3D.
Character animation, cel or frame-by-frame work, or illustration skills.
Experience building brand and graphics systems for a show or franchise from launch.
Figma, Adobe Illustrator, or other design tools used for pitch decks and style frames.
Familiarity with AE plugins and tools that speed up a pipeline (Deep Glow, Trapcode, Overlord, Motion, Flow, and the like).
Sports, athlete, or talent-driven content experience.
