Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer with 5+ years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on firewall governance, administration, operations, and remediation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and reviewing firewall rules and working with audit, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen network security controls.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and manage enterprise firewall environments, including policy configuration, rule reviews, and ongoing maintenance.
Perform firewall rule reviews, recertifications, cleanup, optimization, and remediation activities.
Evaluate firewall rules for security risks, compliance requirements, and operational effectiveness.
Manage the firewall rule lifecycle, including access requests, approvals, modifications, reviews, and decommissioning.
Establish and maintain firewall governance, access controls, and network security standards.
Identify and remediate firewall policy issues and security gaps in collaboration with audit, risk, and compliance teams.
Support security audits and compliance initiatives related to firewall policies and network security controls.
Maintain accurate firewall documentation and communicate security findings and remediation requirements to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Network Security, with a strong focus on firewall governance, operations, and remediation.
Hands-on experience administering and reviewing firewalls such as Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or Fortinet.
Strong knowledge of firewall policies, rule lifecycle management, access governance, and network security controls.
Experience with firewall rule reviews, recertification, cleanup, optimization, and audit/compliance remediation.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating firewall rules against security risks, compliance requirements, and operational needs.
Experience collaborating with audit, risk, and compliance teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation, scripting, or AI-assisted security operations.
Experience with ServiceNow or Jira.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
