As an Engineering and Maintenance Manager at Avery Dennison, you will play a critical leadership role in driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and technological development across our manufacturing facility. You will lead and challenge controls engineering, project engineering, and maintenance teams while acting as a core member of the plant leadership team to align engineering initiatives with business strategy and plant goals.
Key Responsibilities:
This position operates on-site at our Concord and Painesville, OH manufacturing facilities.
Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by actively contributing through training, project management, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities.
Lead, develop, and mentor controls engineering, project engineering, and maintenance teams to drive process improvements, asset reliability, and continuous improvement guided by site priorities.
Act as a core member of the plant leadership team and collaborate cross-functionally across site and divisional functions to align engineering and maintenance goals with broader business objectives.
Lead project delivery, cost center financial management, and capital project execution to achieve target results in safety, quality, operating costs, and customer fulfillment.
Partner with maintenance to oversee work order systems, spare parts inventory, contractor management, and direct hands-on support to minimize unplanned downtime and optimize asset performance.
Bachelor's degree in Controls, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering preferred; other engineering degrees will be considered.
5+ years of experience in project engineering, plant maintenance, or an engineering leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including automation control, PLCs, drives, sensors, and facilities systems.
Demonstrated leadership skills with proven success managing multiple concurrent priorities, project portfolios, and cross-functional team collaboration.
Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt preferred) and experience with TPM program implementation or management.
