About the Opportunity:
The SOFTWARE ENGINEER I - DATA PLATFORMS will contribute to the development and operation of core components within the data platform. This role supports scalability and reliability by building tools and services that facilitate adoption and management of data systems. The position involves automating infrastructure to improve performance and collaborating with engineering teams to address technical challenges. It offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop technical skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and operate core data platform components.
Build tools and services to simplify data system adoption and scaling.
Automate infrastructure and operations for enhanced reliability and scalability.
Apply GenAI techniques to improve developer and operator experiences.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve scalability and reliability issues.
Deliver features end-to-end with guidance from senior engineers.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure.
Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles including data structures, clean code, testing, and debugging.
Interest in AWS, Databricks, and technologies such as databases, streaming, and orchestration.
Problem-solving skills, curiosity, and effective communication.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Nice to Have:
Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Exposure to large-scale or data-intensive systems.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Base salary range: $122,400 to $176,000 USD.
This role may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
