Hanwha Semitech Americas is a leading supplier of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) equipment and automation solutions supporting electronics manufacturers throughout North America. We are seeking motivated Field Service Engineers who enjoy solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and supporting advanced manufacturing equipment.
Position Summary
The SMT Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SMT equipment at customer sites throughout the assigned territory. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to travel extensively.
Key Responsibilities
Install, commission, and service SMT equipment at customer sites.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Provide technical support and basic operator training.
Support basic PC, Windows OS, network, and database-related troubleshooting for equipment operation.
Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
Travel throughout the assigned territory (approximately 70–80%).
Qualifications
Required
3+ years of Field Service experience supporting SMT, industrial automation, semiconductor, or other complex manufacturing equipment.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Basic knowledge of Window-based industrial software, TCP/IP networking, and PC troubleshooting.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Preferred
Experience with one or more of the following:
Experience with SMT production equipment.
Experience supporting PLC-controlled or automated manufacturing equipment.
Basic knowledge of SQL databases, network configuration, or MES/Factory Automation interfaces.
Experience working directly with customers in a field service environment
